This Privacy Policy explains how Nishan Consultancy collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit nishanconsultancy.com or contact us through it. We keep it short and specific: it lists only the services this website actually uses.
Who we are

What information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and demo requests. When you use the contact form or request a website demo, we receive what you enter, such as your name, email address, hotel name, preferred contact time, PMS platform, what you are interested in and a description of the issue.
- Email and WhatsApp messages. If you email us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your message, your email address or phone number, and any details you choose to share.
- Newsletter sign-up. If you subscribe through the form in the site footer, we receive your email address.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics data. We use Google Analytics, installed through the Google Site Kit plugin, to understand how the site is used. It records things like pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, referring site and how you move through the site. It uses cookies and similar identifiers.
- Search performance data. We use Google Search Console to see how the site appears in Google Search. This data comes from Google and does not identify individual visitors to us.
- Server logs. Our web host records technical information with each request, such as IP address, date and time, pages requested, browser and device information and referring page. This is used for security, troubleshooting and keeping the site running.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through this website. Please do not put guest, payment-card or other sensitive data into the contact form.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry, run a requested audit call or prepare a website demo.
- To provide and manage services you have asked for, and to communicate with you about them.
- To send you the newsletter, only if you subscribed, and to stop when you unsubscribe.
- To understand how the website is used and to improve its content, performance and security.
- To protect the site against abuse and to meet legal obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Legal bases and your consent
Nishan Consultancy is based in Canada, so we handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Under PIPEDA we rely mainly on your consent, which you give when you submit a form, message us or subscribe. You can withdraw consent at any time (see “Your rights and choices”).
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the legal bases we rely on under the GDPR are: your consent (newsletter and, where required, analytics cookies); steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (responding to enquiries and quotes); and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the website and in responding to business enquiries, balanced against your rights.
Cookies and third-party services
A cookie is a small file stored by your browser. This site uses the following services:
- Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit). Sets cookies, such as those beginning “_ga”, to tell visits apart and measure site usage. Provided by Google; see Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Google Search Console. Used by us to monitor search performance. It does not place advertising cookies on this site.
- WPForms. The form plugin that delivers contact and demo form submissions to us.
- Hostinger. Our web hosting provider, and the provider of the newsletter sign-up tool (Hostinger Reach) used in the site footer. They process data on our behalf to host the site and to handle newsletter subscriptions.
- WhatsApp. If you choose to message us at +1 778-538-0702, the conversation takes place on WhatsApp, which is run by Meta and has its own privacy policy and terms.
Some site features may also load files or links from other services, such as external websites or apps we link to (for example the Lodgekeeper app). Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
This site does not currently display advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy before ads go live.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although some analytics will be affected.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us run the website and communicate with you, such as Hostinger (hosting and newsletter tool), Google (analytics and search tools), and the email and messaging services we use to reply to you.
- Professional advisers, authorities or other parties where the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
- A successor organization, if the business is ever sold or reorganized, subject to this policy.
Some of these providers process data outside Canada, including in the United States and other countries, where privacy laws may differ from Canadian law. We use providers that publish their own privacy and security commitments.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy. Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for a reasonable period so we can follow up and answer later questions. Records related to paid work are kept for as long as the engagement lasts and as long as accounting, tax and legal rules require. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account. Server logs are kept for the period set by our host. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including HTTPS encryption on the website, and we limit access to personal information to the people who need it to respond to you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Children
This website and our services are for hotel owners and businesses. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your information, or limit how we use it, where the law allows;
- withdraw your consent, including unsubscribing from the newsletter (every newsletter has an unsubscribe option, or you can email us);
- give you a copy of your information in a portable format, where the law provides that right.

You have the rights above, and also the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests and to complain to your local data protection authority.
California and other US state residents (CCPA/CPRA and similar laws)
You may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access, correction and deletion, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

You can access and challenge the accuracy of your personal information, and you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you are not satisfied with our response.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first, and we aim to respond within 30 days.
