Case study: Cloudbeds & Whistle automation
The quiet work behind 15 Street Landing
Most guests will never see the work I have done for 15 Street Landing, and that is the point. Working with Libby, I built the Cloudbeds architecture and the Whistle automation behind it, including guest messaging and ticketing. The work is ongoing, and Libby has given great feedback along the way.

Listening before building
Good PMS work starts with questions, not settings. Before I change anything, I want to know how a property really runs: who takes care of reservations, what guests ask most often, and which jobs quietly eat up the day.
Those answers shape everything that follows. Six years of running hotel operations in Canada taught me that the best system is the one the people using it actually trust.
What I built
Cloudbeds architecture with Whistle automation on top
For 15 Street Landing, I built two connected pieces:
- The Cloudbeds architecture, so the property has one clear foundation to run on
- Whistle automation for guest messaging, so the right information reaches guests at the right moment
- Whistle automation for ticketing, so internal tasks have an owner instead of living in someone’s memory
I keep the structure as simple as the property allows. Every extra setting is something someone has to understand later.
How it works day to day
The test is an ordinary day
The real test of any PMS build is not launch day. It is an ordinary day with check-ins, questions and changes to bookings. When the structure is right, the system carries the routine work and the people can focus on guests.
When something does need attention, a clean setup makes it easier to see where the problem is and fix it quickly.
Where it stands now
Ongoing, with great feedback
My work with 15 Street Landing is ongoing. Libby and I keep adjusting things as the property’s needs change, because a good setup should grow with the business.
Libby has given great feedback on the work, which means a lot to me.
If your property runs on Cloudbeds, Opera or Mews and you want the system to carry more of the load, I would be glad to take a look.
