Case study: Cloudbeds, Whistle & website
Linda Grande Hotel’s systems, in one pair of hands
At Linda Grande Hotel, I handle almost everything on the systems side for Jon: the Cloudbeds architecture, the Whistle automation, OTA sync, channel mapping, rate management, and fixing any OTA connection error that comes up. I also updated the hotel’s website to be more SEO friendly and mobile friendly, to help bring in more direct bookings. I am Jon’s go-to person, and the work is ongoing.

Every hotel has a history
No hotel arrives with a blank slate. There are usually settings someone added years ago, workarounds the front desk relies on, and habits built around whatever the system could or could not do.
Before I build anything, I want to understand how the hotel actually runs on a normal day and on a busy one. I spent six years running hotel operations in Canada, so I start from the front desk’s point of view, not the software’s. The system should fit the hotel, not the other way around.
What I do
Almost everything behind the scenes
For Linda Grande Hotel, my work covers the full set of systems that keep bookings flowing:
- Cloudbeds architecture, the foundation everything else rests on
- Whistle automation, built on top of Cloudbeds
- OTA sync and channel mapping, so each booking channel points at the right room and the right rate
- Rate management
- Fixing any OTA connection error that comes up
- A website update to make the site more SEO friendly and mobile friendly, to increase direct bookings
I work this way because when the foundation is clean, every fix and every automation after it is simpler.
How it works day to day
Jon’s go-to person
When something on the systems side needs attention at Linda Grande Hotel, Jon comes to me. If an OTA connection throws an error, I fix it. If rates or channel mapping need adjusting, I handle it. That way the team can get on with looking after guests.
Because I know what a front desk shift is like, I pay close attention to the small things: what staff see first, which steps they repeat most, and where a manual step is easy to forget at the end of a long day.
Where it stands now
Still building, still improving
The work at Linda Grande Hotel is ongoing, and that is how I think PMS work should be. A system is not finished the day it goes live. It gets better as the hotel uses it and as its needs change.
If your hotel runs on Cloudbeds, Opera or Mews and the setup has grown messy over the years, this is exactly the kind of work I do.
